Principle
During hair transplant surgery hair follicles ( HAIR ROOTS ) from the back of the head that are genetically resistant to going bald will be removed and relocated (transplanted) to the balding areas
Today hair transplant surgery is a one day out-patient procedure ,done under only anaesthesia. After surgery no dressing and no rest is needed.
Person can go home immediately after the procedure. During procedure he can watch movie, listen music, of sleep or read. In between he can have fruit juice/ tea etc and also snacks. There is little pain while injecting local anaesthesia. Here we are explaning whole procedure step by step.

PLANING OF HAIR LINE
Details discussin is done with patient an d his attendants regarding preference of bald area to be covered and type and location of hair line

TRIMING OF DONOR AREA
The hair in donor area is trimmed. Trimming of hair is confined to donor strip area only.

Cooling of donar area is done to make it mumb so pain of injection is reduced

LOCAL ANAESTHESIA
Local anaesthetic agent is given using most fine needle.

INCISION GIVEN TO HARVEST FOLLICLE
A strip of skin is taken from back side. This skin strip is having follicles, to be used for transplant.

SLIVERING
Slivering is making of single follicle thick strip, out of big skin strip. This is done under Sterio microscope.

FOLLICLE DISSECTION
Individual follicles are dissected from sliver under stereo microscope.

IMPLANTATION OF FOLLICLES
Follicles are implanted in bald area using forcep and needle.(stick and place technique.) using loupe (magnification).
